Between kitchen and vehicle

From planned servings to each truck’s packing list

Prep quantities sit with the kitchen; loading targets sit with the vehicle. Mobistro connects them: calculate quantities from planned servings, then transfer them to the right vehicle checklist with one click.

For anyone who loses something between the kitchen and the road

Operations that prep before an event — marinating, portioning, cooking ahead — and then have to load what they prepared. The more vehicles and the more dishes, the more often exactly one thing is missing at the end.

From day-to-day operations

Kitchen prep and vehicle loading quickly fall out of sync

  • The prep list is written in the kitchen, the packing list at the vehicle, and they are reconciled by hand.
  • When the guest count changes, one of the two lists is immediately out of date.
  • With two vehicles, nobody is quite sure which quantity belongs on which truck.
  • A quantity corrected by hand gets overwritten the next time anything is transferred.

Move prep quantities onto the packing list deliberately

The prep list comes from your recipes and the servings you planned. Moving it onto the packing list is a deliberate click — nothing happens in the background.

Prep quantities from servings

Ingredients that appear in several dishes are added together. The calculation sits in the line, so you never have to reconstruct it.

Transfer at the press of a button

One click writes the quantities onto that vehicle’s packing list as targets. Every transferred line is marked as such.

Rounded up to whole cases

Nobody buys 1.4 cases. If you stock an item by the case, the transfer rounds up to the next whole one and shows you the math.

Hand corrections stay

A quantity you set yourself is not overwritten by the next transfer. If the recipe now calculates something different, you are told exactly that.

What changes shortly before departure

  1. 01

The head count is finally confirmed

Enter servings, read the prep list, transfer. What needs doing sits in one list instead of three messages.

  2. 02

    Two vehicles, one shared ingredient

Both trucks need cheddar. Each packing list gets its share, rounded to whole cases per destination.

  3. 03

    Experience beats arithmetic

You know the salsa always runs short, so you raise the quantity. It stays raised, even when you transfer again later.

  4. 04

A dish is added at short notice

Transfer again. What is unchanged stays untouched — and if nothing changed at all, Mobistro says exactly that.

A clear boundary

Not a production schedule and not a stock movement

The transfer writes target quantities, not inventory movements — stock moves only when you load. There is no prep timeline, no assignment to individual people and no automatic ordering.

Frequently asked questions

Does the transfer happen automatically?

No, deliberately so. You decide when quantities go onto the packing list. If you change servings afterwards you transfer again — the packing list never changes behind your back.

What happens if I transfer twice?

Existing lines are replaced, not added to. If nothing has changed, that is what it says: “Nothing changed — the packing lists already match.”

Do checked-off items survive a transfer?

Yes. The check stays, the target is updated. Whatever is already on the vehicle stays there; only the planned quantity moves.

What about ingredients without a linked item?

They stay in the prep list and do not move onto the packing list, which only carries things you hold in stock. Mobistro names them so you do not overlook them.

Does Mobistro always round up?

For items stocked by the case, yes — to the next whole case. Items without a case size are not rounded. The source line shows the calculation.
